Kali Puja(কালীপূজা)

Tithi Requirement:Kartik Krishna Amavasya (Midnight)

Kali Puja (কালীপূজা), also known as Shyama Puja, is a major festival dedicated to the Goddess Kali, the goddess of power, time, and destruction of evil. It is celebrated primarily in Bengal, Assam, and Odisha, coinciding with the pan-Indian festival of Diwali.

Timing & Calculation

Kali Puja is celebrated on the New Moon day (Amavasya) of the Bengali month of Kartik (usually falling in late October or November).

Unlike other Pujas which are celebrated during the day, Kali Puja is conducted during the Nishita Kaal (midnight hours). The Puja date is calculated based on when the Amavasya Tithi is prevailing at midnight.
